Residential ovens
Piccola and Mezzano ovens are made from the same core materials, using the same construction method. The main difference is the shape: the compact igloo-style Piccola, or the Mezzano with its traditional extended front and a little more working space.
Compact igloo style
A compact, rounded oven that suits smaller patios, braai areas and gardens.
| Model | Internal diameter | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Piccola 60 | 60 cm | R13,250 |
| Piccola 70 | 70 cm | R14,650 |
Flue section: approx. 250 mm
Traditional extended front
A traditional oven shape with an extended front, giving a slightly larger usable cooking floor.
| Model | Internal diameter | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Mezzano 70 | 70 cm | R15,845 |
| Mezzano 90 | 90 cm | R17,945 |
Flue section: approx. 500 mm
Optional wheeled stands: approx. R3,500 for the Piccola 60 and 70, approx. R4,000 for the Mezzano 70 and approx. R6,500 for the Mezzano 90.
What is included
Every residential oven comes with an oven door and a pizza spade. The oven itself is built with a firebrick cooking floor and insulation around the dome and under the floor, so it holds its heat.
Supplied with every residential oven
Wheeled stands are optional extras and are quoted separately.
Commercial ovens
Eco builds commercial wood-fired pizza ovens for restaurants, pizzerias, hotels and hospitality projects. Each commercial oven is hand-built in brick and planned around the way your kitchen will actually run.
From R90,000
1.2 m oven, about 6 large pizzas: R90,000. 1.4 m oven, up to 10 large pizzas: R120,000.
What we plan with you
Before you order
A wood-fired oven is a heavy masonry oven, so a little planning makes delivery and installation straightforward.
| Model | Internal | Base (W x D) |
|---|---|---|
| Piccola 60 | 60 cm | 90 x 90 cm |
| Piccola 70 | 70 cm | 100 x 100 cm |
| Mezzano 70 | 70 cm | 100 x 110 cm |
| Mezzano 90 | 90 cm | 120 x 130 cm |
Mezzano ovens can also be built on a corner base. Our Base & Planning guide has the full straight and corner plans.

Buying questions
Short answers to the questions we hear most. For anything else, ask us on WhatsApp.
Start with the style you prefer. The Piccola is a compact, igloo-style oven; the Mezzano has a traditional extended front and a slightly larger cooking floor. Then choose a size that suits how you cook and the space you have for the base. If you are unsure, send us a WhatsApp and we will help you choose.
Every residential oven comes with an oven door and a pizza spade. The oven has a firebrick cooking floor, insulation around the dome and under the floor, a granite landing and a stainless-steel flue section. Wheeled stands are optional extras.
As a minimum: Piccola 60, 90 x 90 cm; Piccola 70, 100 x 100 cm; Mezzano 70, 100 x 110 cm; Mezzano 90, 120 x 130 cm. The base must be level, strong enough for a heavy masonry oven and made from non-combustible materials. Mezzano ovens can also sit on a corner base.
Yes. Our ovens are made in Cape Town and supplied nationwide, either by door-to-door courier or for collection from a courier depot. Tell us your town or suburb and we will quote delivery.
Your oven leaves our workshop on a pallet and is delivered to your address or to a courier depot. You will need to arrange safe offloading and suitable lifting equipment or help at the delivery address. In Cape Town, we deliver and install the oven ourselves.
Most residential ovens are delivered fully assembled. If a gate, doorway or path is too narrow for an assembled oven, we can supply it as a kit, and in Cape Town we can assemble it on site.
Yes, as an optional extra: approximately R3,500 for the Piccola 60 and 70, approximately R4,000 for the Mezzano 70 and approximately R6,500 for the Mezzano 90. A stand makes the oven movable on a firm, level surface, but the oven is still heavy.
Plan the route from where the delivery vehicle stops to the oven position. Measure the narrowest gate or doorway and note any steps or slopes. Because our ovens are heavy masonry, use suitable lifting equipment or professional handling. If carrying by hand, you need at least 4 people for the Piccola 60, Piccola 70 and Mezzano 70, and at least 6 people for the Mezzano 90.
Yes. We build commercial wood-fired ovens for restaurants and hospitality venues throughout South Africa. Our commercial ovens come in two sizes: 1.2 m (R90,000) and 1.4 m (R120,000). Each project starts with a consultation on oven size, kitchen layout, installation area, access and flue.
Use our quote form or WhatsApp us on 073 795 0489. Include your town or suburb, the oven you are interested in, how you would like it delivered and any access details. We will reply with a formal quotation.
